VHF: Caramel Sweet Potatoes (w/ Corn Syrup)
This is a twist for sweet potatoes -- use corn syrup to make caramel sweet potatoes instead of brown sugar. I saw it on @OldRecipesGalore on Twitter!
This is this month's VHF (Vintage Historic Food Post)! I did a twist on it. Instead of slices; I just made a whole microwave/baked sweet potato with some corn syrup.
What I used:
- Sweet Potatoes
I microwaved 2 sweet potatoes for ~7 minutes; you could also bake or steam them for ~40 min.
Then I poured on some corn syrup on them and baked them for about 10 minutes.
Here they are!
The corn syrup is sticky, but slightly less sweet than brown sugar, but it tastes good! Another idea for corn syrup or a twist on sweet potatoes!
