Tip: Shredded Cheese from String Cheese!
Updated: May 9
This is a quick little hack in case you don't have shredded cheese around and you do have string cheese.
It's not the most novel idea I've ever had and it seems pretty obvious, but it could help you in a pinch and you might not have thought of it. :)
As I did when I was making Indian arancini (cheesy risotto balls stuffed with chicken tikka masala, yum!),
You can just tear thin strips off of the string cheese and then cut them into small pieces. Voila!
On the right is the result of 3 string cheese, which are each 1 oz. of cheese, so it's 3 oz. of cheese.
It's another example of how you can use string cheese as an ingredient, which I wrote about before. I like to use string cheese as an ingredient because then I don't have to worry as much about the cheese going bad when I buy it since it's individually wrapped. However, I love cheese, so I still buy lots of different kinds of cheese anyways, haha. :)
Give it a try! We are good at this!
