Puzzles and Learning World Geography
Updated: Aug 25, 2020
As I mentioned in my other post about Yogurt Chicken with Harissa and Coucous (see link), like many people I started doing puzzles in #quarantinelife. The puzzle I got was a World Map. I used it as an opportunity to learn more about world geography too. I need to get back into it. I started with Africa and I looked up something about each country.
I also followed along with this "Learn with Amar" YouTube video (below) to sketch out the geography. He's really smart, has great tricks about geography, is a good teacher, and it's fun way to learn!
Sure, depending on different things, there may be new countries in different parts of the world, but the basic geography stays the same and these diagrams are very helpful and fun to do. :) I think it is helpful not only to watch, but to draw it out yourself.
I haven't done a puzzle in years and I was so proud of myself with finishing it. Haha! :) It was a fun tactile thing to do. I don't have a table big enough for this puzzle, so I just put a garbage bag over a flattened cardboard box on the floor. That way I could move my puzzle work area easily.
This is how I got inspired to try new things from different cultures.
Give it a try! We are good at this!
