Kofta / Kefta (~10 min.) - Ground Beef Going International
This is a delicious way to cook ground beef that you might not have heard of. I think of kofta / kefta as a Middle Eastern meatball / meatloaf dish, but apparently it is really international! :) There are also Indian, South Caucasian, Balkan and Central Asian variations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kofta
See my other post for other ideas for ground beef:
I make a simplified version kofta / kefta by adding a generous amount of this Sahadi spice mix I got online to ground beef (probably 1 or 2 tablespoons to 8 oz.).
If I have bread around, I mix-in 1/2 piece of bread per 8 oz. of meat for a binder. Sometimes I do not put bread in the mixture and it usually turns out fine.
I cook it for a few minutes in a pan with a little oil (on medium to medium-high) on each side.
I ate it here with some hummus, tzatziki and feta I get at the salad bar (for small portions) and some Artisan Stonefire pizza crust I got (as pita). Yum! (There is some microwaved frozen spinach on there to be healthy. :) )
It took about 10 min. to cook everything (including pizza crust in the oven.)
Give it a try! We are good at this!
