Indomie Ramen Noodles w/ Shrimp & Egg
Here is a quick meal idea I came up with after seeing a Great Big Story YouTube video on different ways people eat ramen from around the world! It was really cool to see how people have their own spin on ramen everywhere! Actually, I haven't made the ones in the video with Indomie yet, which are Nigerian fried noodles w/ bell pepper, onions, and tomatoes or Indonesia Ramen Cakes, haha! :)
Fun fact: Indomie as the name suggests is from Indonesia, but they also have a noodle factory in Nigeria and it is the biggest noodle factory in Africa!
What I used:
- Indomie ramen noodles
- Frozen shrimp
Indomie comes with a spice packet, and some different sauces / oils and crispy onions too!
I defrosted the shrimp by running them under cold water.
Tip: When using frozen shrimp or any shrimp really, to make sure you get a good sear on them, make sure they are dry. So when I used frozen shrimp, I make sure they are dry with paper towels.
I boiled the Indomie noodles in water. I have also microwaved them and it worked out fine.
In a separate pan, I cooked the shrimp (2-3 min. on each side) and a fried egg.
Once the noodles were done, I added the sauces & onions, shrimp and egg.
How fancy does that look? :) It took around 7-10 min. too!
And look at the yolk in the last pic! Yum!
Indomie has a nice spice and kick with it. I'm going to make the Nigerian and Indonesia versions mentioned in the YouTube video soon!
Give it a try! We are good at this!
