Green Eggs & Ham for Dr. Seuss Day
Updated: Aug 28, 2020
First, I thought that I could make scrambled eggs and add green food coloring, which is pretty easy.
Then when I looked it up, I realized that they were sunny-side-up eggs, which was more challenging, but I was up to the task! It's been awhile since I read "Green Eggs & Ham". Haha. :)
It's still easy and fun to make and completely edible!
- Green food coloring and gelatin
(or you can use green Jell-O)
Supplies: Hemisphere silicone mold
Note: Using a hemisphere mold really gives it the depth and 3-D look to look like a real egg yolk. If you don't have a hemisphere silicone mold, you could use a cup with a small circumference -- the size of an egg yolk -- and just put a little bit of gelatin/Jell-O mixture in it to be the yolk.
1.) Make your green gelatin/Jell-O mixture.
2.) Pour your mixture into a hemisphere mold; but not all the way to the top. You just want it to look like a yolk.
-- Make a few extra in case they don't turn out how you hope or just to eat. :)
3.) Put it in the fridge to set.
4.) When you are ready to eat, fry your eggs up and warm up your ham if desired.
5.) Place your green yolks on top!
That's it! Green eggs & ham!
Give it a try! We are good at this!
This is easy to make and works well for Dr. Seuss Day, but also for any Dr. Seuss-themed parties or just for fun!
