Filet Mignon a la Chvito


This was inspired by the national sandwich of Uruguay! i saw someone make a version of it on GGG on the Food Network, so then I looked it up. It's steak sandwich with ham, bacon, cheese and an egg on top! This is like the low-carb or keto version. Haha! :)


I'm posting it for Hispanic Heritage Month, which is Sept. 15-Oct.15, 2020 this year!

What I used:

- Omaha Steaks Filet Mignon

- Ham

- Bacon (Hormel Fully Cooked bacon)

- Cheddar

- Egg








I put the cast iron pan on high for several minutes to sear the steak. I put the filet in there and then I covered it with a pan lid. After a few minutes, I flipped the steak.


Then I added ham & bacon and cheese and put the pan lid on. While the cheese was melting, I cooked a fried egg in a separate pan.


Then I put the egg on top!





Here it is without the egg!


Then with the egg and look at that yolk in the last picture!
