Easy Cheesy Crab Dip
Updated: Aug 26
This is easy & cheesy! It only takes 2 minutes! It's something I came up with using a crab cake that you can find at the grocery store. You could also use lump crab. A benefit of using a crab cake is that it already has some spices in there.
What I used:
- 2.5 or 3 oz. of crab cake from Whole Foods (about 1/2)
- 1 oz. cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons of sour cream
- some lemon juice for brightness (optional if you don't have it)
Optional: to make it cheesy; 1 slice of cheddar (or other melt-y cheese)
I took the crabcake and mashed it up. Then I added the cream cheese and sour cream. I microwaved this for about 90 sec. to soften the cream cheese and cook things. (You could put it in the oven if you prefer. If you are unsure if the crab cake is cooked, then just microwave it longer at 30-second intervals.)
You can have the dip without adding the cheese on top as show on the left. To make it cheesier, I just added the piece of cheddar on top & I microwaved it for an additional 45 seconds. I didn't put the cheese on at the beginning and microwave it for 1 min. 45 sec. because the cheese would have been burnt & not melty.
That's it! Easy Cheesy Crab Dip! Give it a try! We are good at this!
