Cookies without Flour (made w/ Bisquick)

This is a variation on a couple of other cookie recipes I came up with if you don't have flour or if you have Bisquick around and want to try it! This version uses an egg. The other 2 ones were made without eggs. You may like one over the others or have different things around. :)

I posted it for Homemade Cookies Day (Oct. 1).

What I used (Yield: 18-20 cookies):

- 1 1/2 cups of Bisquick

- 1 egg

- 1/3 cup butter

- 3/8 cup of brown sugar

- 1/4 cup of sugar

- chocolate chips were added in this version you can leave them out if you like.

Notes:

No salt - Many cookie recipes have little bit of salt, but I don't know if Bisquick has salt in it already, but as I've been working on different cookie recipes with Bisquick, they do not seem to need any salt. You can add 1/4 teaspoon or whatever you normally do if you like.

No baking powder needed because Bisquick has leavening agents in it.

1.) You mix together and cream the butter and sugars (granulated sugar and brown sugar) for a couple minutes.

2.) Mix in the Bisquick and egg.

3.) Optional: Add chocolate chips.

4.) Form cookies and place on a baking sheet with parchment paper & cookie spray. (These cookies were about 1" dough balls about 2 inches apart.)

5.) Bake for about 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees until they are golden brown. See photos below: Do not use convection oven setting on your oven. They will get burnt. Haha! :) Use normal oven setting. Usually it doesn't matter if I use convection oven or regular oven setting, but here it did. Or if you do convection oven, then you will have to play around with temperature and timing (make it lower.)

They may seem a little soft to the touch and not cooked when you take them out of the oven.

6.) Allow them to cool at least 5-10 minutes or so before eating.

Good steps: Normal baking setting (not Convection Oven)

Right: Do not use Convection Oven or experiment and decrease oven temp and time.

Here is the finished picture again. I used them to make cute spider cookies! Check out that post!
