Can I Make "Omelette Toad in the Hole"?
Updated: Aug 29, 2020

This recipe from this Tastemade YouTube video didn't have a name, but I decided to call it "Omelette Toad in the Hole," which is what it is. I also like the name for egg dishes "Egg in a Hole" or "Toad in the Hole" as I wrote about before. (To learn more about history of the name "Egg in a Hole" or "Toad in a Hole; see link. :) )
This looked like a fun variation of "egg in a hole" -- with omelette instead of a fried egg. I had all the stuff around, so I decided to make it.

Attempt #1:
This recipe was actually in a Grilled Cheese compilation video from Tastemade, so there is some cheesiness in there!

What I used:
- frozen spinach (microwaved)
- sundried tomatoes
- string cheese
- egg
- white bread
It was fast & easy. I microwaved the frozen spinach to cook it & pat it dry. I cut up a few pieces of sundried tomatoes and put it in with the spinach. I added and mixed in the egg and string cheese to the omelette mixture (not shown).
I used a circle cookie cutter to cut a hole in the piece of bread. I turned a pan on medium. I put the bread into the pan first and then poured the omelette mixture into the pan. I let that cook for a couple minutes. While the egg is cooking, it sticks to bread "frame". Then I flipped it.
RESULT: Success! :)
We are good at this! Fast & easy, but fancy looking! It tastes really good and is a fun way to eat an omelette. :)
Give it a try! We are good at this!
