Can I Make "Garlic Mozzarella Bread"?

This garlic mozzarella bread from Ninik Becker on YouTube has 3 million+ views! It looked cheesy & good, so I had to try it. Something that was interesting to me was that she puts the cheese in the bread while it is still dough rather than adding cheese on top of baked bread to make garlic cheesebread.

National Garlic Day promotes the many uses of Garlic. And, there certainly are many uses. It's a vegetable. It's a herb. It is used in recipes around the world. Garlic has been used medicinally for thousands of years. And, Garlic is believed to ward off evil spirits. About the only negative thing you can say about it, is that it can negatively affect an otherwise romantic evening.

Attempt #1:


I made a half-batch of garlic cheesebread, so 1/2 of what was used here. I also used garlic spread spread instead of making garlic butter (not shown).


What I used:

- 250g (2 cups) all-purpose flour/plain flour

- 5g (1-1/2 tsp) instant dry yeast

- 25g (2 tbsp) sugar

- 1/2 tsp salt

- 42g (3 tbsp) unsalted butter, melted 125ml

- (1/2 cup) warm milk

- 1 egg

- fresh mozzarella


- garlic spread (not shown- instead of making garlic butter)



I microwaved the milk to warm up & microwaved the butter to melt it. Then I added all the ingredients together to make a dough. I covered and let the dough rise until it doubled in size.




Then I scored the dough as in the video and put in some slices of cheese. I didn't get a perfect circle like her. Haha. :)



I baked it at 400 degrees for about 20 min.



RESULT: Success! :)


We are good at this! Nice cheesy garlic bread!
