Can I Make "Easy Baked Onion Dip"?

Updated: Aug 25

What appealed to me about this onion dip I saw on Pinterest from thesimpleparent.com was that there were multiple cheeses (haha!)! I didn't have a Vidalia onion or mayo, but I pretty much had everything. I made a small individual portion for myself.

June 27 is Onion Day!

Onion Day

A very special day is looming – National Onion Day. It’s a day that celebrates one of the oldest vegetables grown in America — the onion.

It’s a day to cheer one of the nation’s most popular and versatile vegetables. Come Thursday, June 27, we can all celebrate National Onion Day.

The Onion Has Ninja Skills

The onion — Nature’s Ninja — is the third-most consumed fresh vegetable in the United States. It is packed with heart-healthy nutrients to keep disease and some cancers at bay.

Ingredients:

  • 1 large Vidalia onion, diced

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

  • 1 cup swiss cheese, shredded

  • salt and pepper, to taste

  • Crackers, pita, flatbread, etc to serve on

I had some pre-chopped onions that I had already sauted; meal prepping. I used sour cream in place of mayo.

I just put everything in a dish and baked it at 375 degrees.

RESULT: Success! :)

We are good at this! Look at that nice brown crust and so cheesy and onion-y! :) It's an easy recipe to make as a snack for yourself or as a larger portion for a cocktail party.

Give it a try! We are good at this!
