Can I Make "Cookies & Cream Cheesecake Cookies"?

Updated: Nov 25, 2019

This Tasty YouTube recipe seemed to be a creative variation on Oreo cheesecakes that I've seen on different YouTube videos and recipes on the internet. I had some Oreos and cream cheese around, so I decided to try to make them. :)

(I had also used some Oreos and cream cheese to make Oreo balls -- like cake pops, but with Oreos and cream cheese. Check it out! :) )

It's kind of funny on some of the videos and websites, they don't want to say "Oreo" because that's a brand, so they call them "chocolate sandwich cookies" or "cookies & cream," but everyone knows they are Oreos. :)

I made a full batch.

The ingredients are as follows:

- 10 Oreos cookies, crushed

- 4 oz cream cheese, softened

- 8 tablespoons salted butter, room temperature

- ¾ cup sugar

- 1 cup flour

It's really easy to put together. I crushed the cookies with a hammer (only way I use this handyman equipment, haha :) ) in a Ziploc bag.

To soften the cheese, I microwaved the cream cheese and butter separately for about 20-30 seconds each.

I put it all in a bowl and hand-mixed it together as in the video and then put it on a baking pan with cooking spray.

I chilled the batter for 30 min. to 1 hour before putting on the baking pan.

I also tried one cookie shaping/decorating technique (hedgehog) I saw in a So Yummy YouTube video, which I will detail in a different post. (Stay tuned! :) ) I knew the dough was too soft and not great for it, but I thought I'd give it a try anyways. Those are the hedgehogs pre-baking -- the shape with sprinkles you see there in the 3rd picture.

Btw, in the video, this much cookie batter is enough to yield 12 normal round cookies. :)

I baked them at 350 degrees for 10-12 min.

RESULT: Success. :)

In terms of making the Cookies and Cream Cheesecake cookies, it was a success! The hedgehogs are another story, haha. Stay tuned for that post! :)

They tasted good and were easy to make. If you have some Oreos and cream cheese around, give it a try! We are good at this!
