Can I Make "Cilantro Lime Shrimp"?
Updated: Aug 25, 2020

This "Cilantro Lime Shrimp" recipe on Pinterest from cookinwithmima.com looked good and seemed easy to make, so I wanted to try it. I made a smaller individual portion for myself, but you could make a big batch for a larger group or a party. Because it's just shrimp, it's keto / low-carb.

Of course, some people may not like cilantro and think it tastes like soap. That's genetic. "These people have a variation in a group of olfactory-receptor genes that allows them to strongly perceive the soapy-flavored aldehydes in cilantro leaves."
Cilantro is a major component of this dish. The cilantro haters could eat something else or you could try the recipe without it -- with just the spices and lime.

Ingredients (I made 1/4 batch, so 1/4 of this):
2 lbs raw jumbo shrimps
1/4 cup lime juice
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
1 tsp fresh garlic paste
1 tsp paprika
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
It's really easy -- you just mix everything and let it marinate for 30 min. Then you cook the shrimpies.
RESULT: Success!
We are good at this! Tasty shrimp and really easy to make! It is a nice fresh dish or appetizer! Since it's just shrimp, it's high protein too.
Give it a try! We are good at this!
