Can I Make "Cherry Pie Cookie Bars"?
Updated: Aug 28
This recipe from the Pioneer Woman looked like the combination of 2 good desserts: cherry pie & cookies, so I decided to try it for Cherry Pie Day!
To make them, you make a sugar cookie dough. Then you put 2/3 of it for the bottom (cookie bar part), put some cherry pie filling down and then put the other 1/3 of the cookie dough on top like a crumble.
I made a half-batch.
What I used:
- Baking Powder
- Cherry pie filling
I made the dough & put 2/3 down.
I added the cherry pie filling and put the other 1/3 of the dough left on top as a crumble and baked them at 375 degrees.
RESULT: Success. :)
We are good at this. I didn't give myself a full ! because I was doing something else and forgot about them a little bit & then the bottom got burned. You wouldn't have known that unless I told you, haha! They look good and they also taste good. :)
It was fine; I threw out the burnt parts. I just scraped off the top part and saved that and it was 1/2 or 2/3 less calories.
Give it a try! We are good at this!
