Can I Make "Cheesy Shrimp Casserole"?

Updated: Aug 27

Fridge raid! I had a half-can of mushroom soup, some cheese, shrimp and rice in the fridge, so when I saw this recipe that looked good on Pinterest from homemadeinterest.com , I was like: Score! #struggletimes

I wouldn't have thought to put them together! :)

Attempt #1:

I was making a smaller version than in their recipe. Also I had some cooked rice, so I just used that instead of making some rice.

What I used: - Rice

- Shrimp

- Cream of mushroom soup

- Onion

- Powder

- Cheddar cheese

- Salt & pepper to taste

In their recipe, they use Old Bay spice. I didn't have any. They also use wild rice, but I had this cooked white rice, so I decided just to use that.

I combined all the ingredients and then I put it in a 350-degree oven. Since the shrimp were going in the oven anyways, I didn't cook them before.

I baked it for about 15 minutes until the cheese was nice and melt-y.

RESULT: Success! :)

We are good at this! It was really tasty. As I mentioned above, I wouldn't have thought to put all these ingredients: shrimp, cheese, mushroom soup, and rice together.

It was a good hearty meal made from raiding the fridge! :) You might have these things in your fridge/freezer/pantry too.

Next time, I try it, I will try it with wild rice or other flavored rice.

Give it a try! We are good at this!
