Can I Make Buffalo Chicken Hand Pies?
Updated: Aug 29, 2020

These Buffalo Chicken Hand Pies from Tasty on YouTube looked good: basically like buffalo chicken dip in pie dough or a buffalo chicken empanada. What’s not to like? 😊
Attempt #1:

What I used:
- Chicken from Salad Bar (hand-shredded; like using pre-made Rotisserie Chicken)
- Cream cheese
- Cheddar (which I cut into pieces)
- Onions (I had sauted)
- Hot Sauce / Chicken wing sauce
- Pillsbury pie crust
I mixed together the filling in the salad bar box; didn't even need a bowl. I did microwave it for 30 seconds to soften the cream cheese and make everything easier to mix.
Then I used my circle cookie cutter to cut out a circle. (You could just use a butter knife and make a circle.) I used leftover dough for one of the hand pies.
You can see from this photo that this pretty small amount of filling would have been enough for 4 hand pies. I just made 3 and at the rest of the filling. Haha. 😊
I baked them in the oven at 400 degrees for ~15-17 min.
RESULT: Success!
We are good at this! How good does that look? They’re really good -- buffalo chicken and cheesiness! -- and easy to make. The prep time was probably 2-5 min. before I put them in the oven.
Give it a try! We are good at this! 😊
