Can I Make "Baked Scallops w/ Buttery Panko Topping"?
Updated: Aug 28, 2020

I decided to make Baked Scallops for Baked Scallops Day on Mar. 12. I found a recipe on Pinterest from dinnerthendessert.com that looked really good and decided to give it a try.

I probably wouldn't have tried to cook baked scallops, but I recently learned how to cook seared scallops link from the Sam the Cooking Guy on YouTube. I was previously scared of cooking scallops because I thought I would mess them up. Haha. :)

What is Baked Scallops Day?
It's unclear, haha. :) "Within our research we were unable to identify the creator of National Baked Scallops Day."

Attempt #1:

What I used:
- Scallops
- Parmesan
- Paprika
- Cayenne Pepper
- Butter
- Olive Oil
I pat dry the scallops. Then I made the parmesan/panko topping with all the ingredients except for the scallops.
Then I just topped the scallops with the topping and popped them in 400 degree oven for about 12-13 min.

RESULT: Success! :)
We are good at this! How good do they look? It was really good! This is a really fast and easy recipe from dinnerthendessert.com that looks really fancy. Even with the fresh scallops, this meal actually cost less than getting fast food.
As I mentioned before:
Scallops are more expensive than shrimp, but not that bad and it's much less than it costs to order it in a restaurant. 3 oz. of scallops has 17-20 grams of protein! A lot of protein bang for your buck.
