Can I Make a "Cheesy Ham Puff Ring"?
Updated: Aug 28
I was watching this Twisted YouTube video and I pretty much had everything in the fridge and it look good, so I decided to try to make the Cheesy Ham Puff Ring!
For Cold Cuts Day (Mar. 3), this is an example of how cold cuts aren't just for sandwiches!
- Puff pastry
- Fresh Mozzarella
The puff pastry ring looks fancy, but it's really easy to make. First, you preheat the oven to 425 degrees or whatever is on the box and you thaw the puff pastry to room temperature and roll it out. I actually did use the whole puff pastry ring here. Sometimes I just make smaller versions of different meals.
Then, you make sort of starburst slices in the center of the puff pastry.
Next, you just stack the different ingredients: fresh mozzarella, then tomatoes, spinach, ham, fresh basil and parmesan.
You fold over each of the flaps from the slices you made in the middle. That's what makes it look fancy!
Then you bake for about 20 min. or so or until golden brown.
We are good at this! How good does that look? As I mentioned above, cold cuts aren't just for sandwiches! That looks fancy. Also, we tend to think of puff pastry for parties and this is definitely fancy enough for a party, but it's also easy enough to make everyday. I made it for lunch and ate part of it then and over a couple days.
If you don't have puff pastry, refrigerated pie crust would work too.
Give it a try! We are good at this!
