Can I Make "3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies"? (for Peanut Butter Day, Jan. 24!)
These 3-ingredient peanut butter cookies from the One Pot Chef on YouTube with 1.9 million+ views looked good and so simple to make that I had to give them a try. :)
What is Peanut Butter Day?
"Who doesn’t love peanut butter? So let’s celebrate Peanut Butter Day. This auspicious occasion was created many years ago, to allow peanut butter lovers to celebrate the creation of this wonderful food.?
For another great peanut butter dessert, check out my post on Peanut-Butter Stuffed Brownies from Twisted:
I just made a half-batch and also made a tweak based on what I read in the comments. In his recipe, the 3 ingredients are 1:1 ratio (1 cup of peanut butter, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 egg). In the comments, some people mentioned that they used 1/2 cup of sugar, so I tried that.
Ingredients (for half-batch):
- 1/2 cup of peanut butter
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1/2 egg
So actually I only used 1/2 egg, eventhough there is 1 egg in this picture.
I preheat oven to 375 degrees. I mixed all the ingredients together. The batter (w/ half-amount of sugar looked a little liquid-y), so I added a touch more sugar, but it was still pretty much half the amount.
I put them on the baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Like in the video and all the peanut butter cookies I see, I used a fork to make an imprint on the cookies. :) After I put them on the sheet, I realized my cookies were a little bigger than the one in the videos.
I baked them for ~18 min.
RESULT: Success! :)
We are good at this! They're really good and it's a really simple recipe with things you probably already have. :) They're also gluten-free.
When they came out of the oven they were a little soft, but I re-watched the video again and he recommends to let them sit out for 5 min. or so to let them harden some...and they did!
Give it a try! We are good at this!
