Can I Make "3-Ingredient Mozzarella Sticks"?

While I was making Lumpia Shanghai, I remembered a 3-ingredient recipe for mozzarella sticks from a Tasty YouTube video with string cheese, egg roll wrappers and water.


I had some leftover egg roll wrappers and string cheese (of course) and the oil was already hot, so I decided to give it a try. :)

Thursday, November 14, 2019, Attempt #1:


I just grabbed a couple string cheese from the fridge. I did the same thing as rolling a Lumpia Shanghai :).


I put the string cheese (filling) on the near edge of the egg roll wrapper like when I was making the Lumpia Shanghai.


I folded in the edges and rolled it like a Lumpia Shanghai -- rolling away from me. When I got to the near edge, I added a little water and then sealed it up. I fried them for a couple minutes until they were golden brown.





RESULT: Success! :)


We are good at this! How good does that look? See below.


They were really good and easy to make! They were melt-y and crunchy!


String cheese and egg roll wrappers are cheap and this is an easy way to cook a little something when you feel like cooking and doing something fun, but don't feel like doing much. It's fun to roll them too.


This is much easier to make then breading the cheese and making mozzarella sticks from scratch. It was much faster than frying or baking frozen mozzarella sticks because the ingredients are refrigerated, not frozen. I think they tasted much better than microwaving frozen mozzarella sticks.
