This is taking a meal and turning it into a smaller size, to make it a snack or appetizer! :)
What I used:
- Ground pork
- Egg yolks (optional)
- Garlic powder
-- Italian seasoning
- Pillsbury pizza dough
- Parmesan cheese
- Marinara sauce (for dipping)
All I did was make make calzone filling mixture with ground pork, spices, and ricotta and some egg yolks (optional).
Then I microwaved the filling for 3 min. to par cook it -- to make sure the meat was cooked when the dough baked. I like to do this when I make something with a filling just to make sure the filling is cooked.
Then I put a tablespoon of filling or so on to a small piece of pizza dough (~1 1/2" or 2" square) and formed small balls. I put Parmesan cheese on the outside and baked them at 400 degrees for about 10 min.
I added Marinara sauce in a bowl for dipping. Yum!
