Bald Eagle Cookie Bar
This is a quick decorating idea I came up with that looks like a Bald Eagle! It was actually serendipitious. I was experimenting and thought I was going to make a snowman, but the mini M&M I used really looked like a beak and it really looks like a cute Bald Eagle. Haha! :)
I used an Easy Sugar Cookie Bar recipe from upstateramblings.com as the base. Check out that post.
What I used (per Bald Eagle):
- Cookie bar (~3" x 1")
- White chocolate (melted)
- 1 orange mini M&M (beak)
- Black gel food coloring (eyes)
(Note: You could try melted dark chocolate for the eyes, but it may harden while you are painting.)
You could try another flavor if you would like or store bought wafer cookies or Milanos or other cookies of a rectangular or oval shape. Or maybe even a chocolate bar for the body of the Bald Eagle.
Melt chocolate on double boiler or in the microwave on 50% power / defrost setting in 30-second or 15-second intervals.
Cover or dip about ~1" or so of the cookie with white chocolate.
I put a little gel food coloring on some parchment paper (like a painter's palette). :)
I use a toothpick as a little paintbrush to make the eyes. Then I put the orange mini M&M on sideways as a beak. :)
Then just put in the fridge to set and harden for at least 15 min. That's it!
So cute! Give it a try! We are good at this!
