4th of July Firecracker Hot Dog (Or Any Day! :) )
This is a fun variation on Pigs in a Blanket that I saw on Pinterest from handmadeintheheartland.com that is perfect for July 4th or any day.
What I used:
- Hot dogs
- Pizza dough
- Colby cheese slices
- Bamboo sticks
I did pan fry the hot dogs before baking them because I like a little crust on my hot dogs.
I put the skewer through the hot dogs and I wrapped some dough -- not too well (haha!) around the hot dogs.
Then I baked them at 400 degrees for about 10-12 min.
I see why she says on her website to ask the Deli Counter to slice the cheese into thick slices 1/4" or 3/8" inch. I put 2 pieces of cheese together to make a thicker piece and it worked!
RESULT: Success or Success / Fail. (Haha!)
We are good at this or We are good at this? / We are good at this. :) Only 1 of 3 came out. That was my fault for not making the dough wrap around well before baking. The other ones still taste good. Haha! :)
I am getting good at carving out stars though! And it looks super patriotic in front of Coronatessellation #59. Haha! :) This one was inspired by David Bowie's song, Young Americans. Coronatessellation are a collaborative art project from @stylefarmer / David Hamlow on IG that I've been doing as part of #quarantinelife Check out links for more info and to see more of them.
Give it a try! We are good at this!
