1960s 3-Ingredient Pot Roast (Vintage or Historic Food / VHF)
Updated: Aug 27, 2020

I got this 3-ingredient Pot Roast recipe from Old Recipes Galore (@GaloreOld) on Twitter. I like these old vintage and historic recipes and I'm going to start doing a series of them every month: Vintage or Historic Food (VHF).
It's funny how food changes, but also food stays the same -- food is food!
This pot roast recipe looked good and only had 3 ingredients!

This is the recipe! That's it!
I only got about ~1 lb. of chuck roast.

What I used:
- 1 lb. chuck roast
- 1/2 package of onion soup mix
- a little bit of cream of mushroom soup
I just put the onion dip mix and soup on the roast. Then I covered it with foil (not shown) and baked it for ~1 hour 15 min. or maybe 1 hour 30 min.
RESULT: Success!
We are good at this! It tasted really good, only has 3 ingredients and was so simple! There was essentially 1 min. of active work and then you just put it in the oven. Chuck roast is one of the cheaper cuts of meat, so this is a good cheap hearty meal.
I put it on this psychedelic plate I had because the pot roast recipe was from the 1960s. Groovy, man! :)
Just because it's an old recipe doesn't mean it's a bad recipe. Haha! :)
Give it a try! We are good at this!
